Our quest for a good, frozen vegan pizza continues with the vegan pepperoni pizza from Chloe Vegan Foods (now named CLO-CLO Vegan Foods).
Since recording this episode, the company has changed its name to CLO-CLO Vegan Foods. The pizza is the same one we tried, just the packaging is new.
They've also expanded their line to include vegan cheese shreds, mac and cheese, and more. You can bet that I'm on the hunt for these!

Chloe Delectably Vegan Pizza Review
The Chloe Foods company story is a very sweet one. The founders' daughter, Chloe, has Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE), a chronic inflammatory disease of the esophagus that flares up when she eats certain foods.
They wanted to make a line of pizzas that Chloe should eat, so they teamed up with a chef to do it! These pizzas are free from:
- gluten
- peanuts
- wheat
- dairy
- egg
- lupin
- mustard
- sesame
- fish
- soy
They have a cauliflower crust, which has a mild veggie flavor, but it's not intense like some cauliflower based products have.
Y'all, Dave and I both liked this pizza! I liked it more than he did, but Chloe might just be a freezer staple.
The kid and I really enjoyed our slices. I loved the thin crust and the cheese. The pepperoni was a little bit too crunchy for me, so I'd like to try one of their other varieties.
We also talked about making homemade pepperoni, because this isn't the first time that vegan pepperoni has let us down. I've been eyeing this seitan pepperoni from My Quiet Kitchen for a while.
Dave liked the crust fine but didn't love it. He's more of a thick crust guy, so that's not surprising. He liked the pepperoni more than I did and said the pizza had more of a flatbread vibe than a za vibe, if that makes sense.
Dave liked the crust fine but didn't love it. He's more of a thick crust guy, so that's not surprising. The cauliflower crust was thin and crispy. What he didn't bring up was any cauliflower flavor to the crust, which is a big compliment from Dave, hater of cauliflower.
He liked the pepperoni more than I did and said the pizza had more of a flatbread vibe than a za vibe, if that makes sense.
I really liked the cheese they use! It didn't melt super well, but the flavor and texture when you're eating it were great. Since we recorded this episode, they've begun offering their shreds for sale separately!
The sauce was also lovely. Just a simple, flavorful pizza sauce that hit the spot nicely.
